12 August, 2012 The U.S. government is withholding funds to Honduran law enforcement units directly supervised by their new national police chief until the U.S. can investigate allegations that he ran a death squad a decade ago, according to a State Department report released this week. The report says the State Department “is aware of allegations of human rights violations related to Police Chief Juan Carlos Bonilla’s service” and that the U.S. government has established a working group to investigate. Human rights groups criticise migrant round-ups in Greece 12 August, 2012 Human rights groups have slammed Greece's crackdown on illegal migrants, adding their voice to the Greek Communist party and the far-left SYRIZA. Human rights ministry submits Universal Periodic Report to UN 10 August, 2012 The Federal Ministry of Human Rights has submitted the Universal Periodic Report (UPR) to the United Nations that will be presented before UN Committee in October and will be reviewed by three countries — China, Chile and Congo.
