· Need for safeguards – Following the footsteps of states such as Tamil Nadu
· Suggestions for laws that empower the transgender community

SESSION 2 - Gender Specific Crimes: Causes, Effects and Solutions (2:30pm - 4:30 pm)
· Gender Specific crimes includes issues of domestic violence, Honour Killings, Female infanticide, Sexual Harassment, Rape, Custodial Violence and abuse, Trafficking, Prostitution, etc.
· The focus of this session must be on examining the social, psychological and other causes that lead to these crimes , the effect of these crimes on women and the solutions whether legal or social or of any other nature.

Panel Discussion on a Bill Proposed by RGNUL (2:30pm-4:30 pm)
RGNUL organised a Bill Drafting Competition. The Theme of the Bill to be drafted was “Socio-Economic Empowerment of Homemakers” wherein the Bill focused upon ‘A Compulsory Share of a Man’s Salary to his Housewife’. A proposal of similar nature is before the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, which has sought suggestions for the same. The winning Bill after discussion in the Panel Discussion shall be sent to the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India.
